Thanks to a generous grant from the Diocese of New Westminster’s Anglican Initiatives Fund, local youth and young adults are gaining practical Christian ministry experience this summer.
As support workers for Aspire Bible Camp, run out of St Clement's, these young people have been building resume and job interview skills; undertaking training in Safe Church and adolescent development; and preparing to lead from a Christian faith perspective a week-long day camp empowering children to love the world, one another, and themselves.
We asked each of our leaders: What is your favourite summer activity? What is your favourite Bible story? If you could be any animal, what animal would you be? Here’s what they had to say:
Christina:
My favourite summer activity is being outdoors, hiking.
My favourite Bible story is the Prince of Egypt, especially the movie version.
If I could be any animal, I would be some type of bird.
Sarah:
If I could be any animal, I would be a cat because they are cute and small—and also deadly.
My favourite summer activity is swimming with my cousins… especially surfing at the beach using floaties.
