Lynda Faivre-Duboz has announced a fun joint community project between the church and the Lynn Valley District Girl Guides, many of whom meet in our building. Participants will knit small squares and rectangles that will be used to "yarn bomb" our St. Clement's anchor to raise awareness for the Harvest Project's food program. This overnight yarn bomb will be timed to coincide with the Girl Guides' annual Hike for Hunger event in March or April.
Lynda says that the anchor will be completely covered in a multi-coloured knitted "scarf." If you have any balls of yarn going spare, please donate them at the back of the church. Are you a knitter who can take part, or teach some others a basic garter stitch? Please see Lynda. Still confused about what the heck "yarn bombing" is? Please check out these images on the internet!
