Our Building and Grounds team has put together a great plan for increasing the appearance and function of our church, and now it's up to all of us to help get the plane off the ground!
You can click below in the "Downloads" section to review the slide show that was presented at our recent parish meeting, but as you will see we are sandblasting the panabode exterior, improving the concrete pavement in front of the entrace, installing a stairway chair lift to greatly ease mobility between the floors, and capping it all off with an attractive new sign by the roadway.
While we have the means to get the work started, we are challenging the congregation to raise $20,000 over the months to come to support these important projects. We have already had a very generous donation toward the stair lift (thank you, kind soul!)
The Buildings and Grounds folks always like to put the "fun" in "fundraising," so are playing with the theme of sand(blasting) and beach vacations - and the fact that St. Clement's is our close-to-home spiritual oasis and place of renewal! You are invited to consider offering some of the money you may have saved over the past year from the holiday travels that weren't able to take place due to the pandemic restrictions.
We will have a tropical "beach party" in the parking lot to celebrate our fundraising endeavours and to welcome our new priest, the Rev. Helen Dunn (date to be determined). In the meantime, some folks are thinking up ways they can help raise funds for the cause, so stay tuned in the weeks to come!
You can write a cheque to St. Clement's, noting on it that it should be directed to the Building Fund. Alternately, you can donate online by visiting the "Donate" page of our website. You'll click on the "Give" box which will take you to the pop-up box where you can enter your credit card payment details. At the top right of the pop-up box is a drop-down menu that gives you the option to have your donation earmarked for the Building Fund; click that then continue to scroll down until you have filled in your name and payment information. Tax receipts will be issued at tax time, but in the meantime you have our grateful thanks!
