UPDATE: The Archbishop has sent a directive requiring all churches in the diocese to call a temporary halt to all use of our buildings, with very limited exceptions. Please read her directive by clicking here or downloading the PDF linked below.
Warm greetings to all,
You have likely being wondering what will become of church services in the coming weeks. Today, we decided to suspend our Sunday morning worship gatherings until the risk to community health is much reduced. It was a big decision, but we are confident that it was the sensible and loving decision.
It is, of course, vastly disappointing not to be with our family of faith in person on a Sunday morning. However, Philippa and Peggy (shown in photo) will be putting their best foot forward by offering Sunday Morning Prayer via a YouTube video that will be posted on our website. We hope you will join us (and we hope we don't blow it on camera!!)
We will send out more details in the usual mid-week newsletter, but we wanted you to know now what to expect in the weeks ahead. The Archbishop is convening online meetings with diocesan clergy on Wednesday; at that time we will learn more from +Melissa and hear what other folks in the Diocese are doing to adapt their worship.
We are all sobered by the new realities that are affecting each of us. Along with that, we are looking forward to exploring this challenge to be connected with each other in new and creative ways. Please stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses!
Yours, with great affection,
Philippa, Peggy, Elizabeth, and your wardens, Phoebe and Philip
