Section leads for choir

Re: Section Lead (SATB choir)

The Parish of St Clement, North Vancouver is seeking to engage four section leads (SATB) to support our Sunday morning choral program. 

Hours:  Three (3) hours total per session for 10 sessions each term

Duties:
Provide musical leadership for section (i.e. baritone SL provides musical leadership for baritones). Musical leadership may entail anything from answering questions such as “what songs were rehearsed last week?” to specific technical questions such as “is there an easy way to make a successful jump for this tritone?”. In the event that the SL is not able to answer the question, they may confer with other section leads or the Music Director. 

Take careful note of details in rehearsal, such as phrasing, breathing, pronunciation etc., so that exact details can be communicated to members.

Be willing to take initiative in the absence of the Music Director (e.g. lead a warm-up).

All services will be performed during rehearsals commencing at 9:00 a.m. and St. Clement’s worship services commencing at 10:00 a.m. (unless otherwise specified) on each of the following dates:

Easter term
Palm Sunday, March 24
Maundy Thursday, 7 pm on March 28 (rehearsal at 6 pm)
Good Friday, 3 pm on March 29 (rehearsal at 2 pm – services at 3 pm)
Easter Sunday, March 31
Sunday April 14, 21, 28
Sunday May 5, 12
Day of Pentecost, Sunday, May 19

SUMMER BREAK: JUNE, JULY, AUGUST 2024

Michaelmas term
Sunday, September 22, 29
Sunday October 6, 13 (Thanksgiving Sunday), 20, and 27
Sunday November 3 (All Saints), 10 (Remembrance Sunday), 17, and 24

Advent and Christmas term
Sunday December 1, 08, 15, 22 
Christmas Eve services: December 24, 7 pm and 10 pm (rehearsal at 6 pm)
