While our church and others have been mindful of adopting safe practices to reduce the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 virus, the identification of new cases within our communities has prompted Archbishop Melissa Skelton to issue an updated directive.
Please read it in its entirety by clicking here. As you will see, we have been instructed to temporarily suspend the passing of the common cup during the Eucharist, to put the offering plate at the back instead of passing it, and to forego coffee hour so as to further reduce the risk of transmitting the virus. We will pass the peace with a good heart instead of a firm handshake! Please spread out in the pews so we can maintain the physical distance necessary for everyone's safety.
Here at St. Clement's, we have decided to put on hold extracurricular gatherings such as the Lenten TED talks and yoga group. Unless we are given instructions to the contrary, Sunday morning worship will continue. Please wash your hands before attending and use the hand sanitizer provided when entering the church so we can keep each other safe and well.
Both the Archbishop's office and St. Clement's clergy will provide updates as the situation develops. Please be in touch if you have any questions or just need a friendly chat in the midst of all this!
