Advent One was Christmas Tree Decorating Sunday in Lynn Valley Village, and once again St. Clement's was out enjoying the occasion.
The sign beside our tree reads: Inspired by nature? So are we! This year, our tree honours the Divine spark woven through all of Creation … and that shone especially brightly through the life of Jesus Christ.
To that end, you'll see that our tree is decorated by beautiful boughs and berries sourced out at Maple Leaf Garden Spot. There won't be much to "undecorate" this year - it's pretty much all compostable along with the tree! Thank you to the elves who came out to decorate, and for the expert star installation by Dave and Wilna (the rest of us were free with our advice!)
We hope everyone can take a moment this season to enjoy a walk through Lynn Valley's Parade of Trees by the library. We are delighted to know that proceeds from this year's sponsored trees were donated to Sharing Abundance, the incredible community meal ministry founded by the Rev. Lizz Lindsay, deacon at St. Agnes Church. After running it for many years, Lizz recently handed over the ladle to A Loving Spoonful, another non-profit that has assumed the operation of Sharing Abundance. Thank you to Lizz and her crew for the tens of thousands of meals served, and hearts warmed!
