Education for Ministry is a rich program of study, fellowship, discussion and faith formation. It is a program of theological education by extension from the University of South, designed for lay people.
There are four years of study, but participants commit for just one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor. The program combines academic study with integrative components to help participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics into their own lives and hearts, supporting them in living out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world. Wilna, Lynne, Gordon, Barry and Peggy have all completed the program, so if you want to know more, just ask them!
Jim Berger, from Gloria Dei Lutheran, is a mentor at the group that meets at Christ Church Cathedral on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 9:30pm. A new year starts on January 8, 2020; summer break takes place from the second week of June through Labour Day. Jim would be delighted to answer your questions; please email him with this link.
