Helen and Peggy feel fortunate to have had one last Gambier Island getaway to say goodbye to summer and welcome the riches of autumn.
Harvest Weekend is a Camp Artaban tradition that takes place on the weekend before the Thanksgiving Long Weekend. This year, individuals and families of all ages joined in the fun and fellowship, which included boating, puzzles, reading, hiking, basking in the sun, a wonderful turkey dinner, songs around the campfire, and mandala stone painting with Christie Smith (who will be bringing her workshop to St. Clement's later this fall!)
Gordon and Kevin joined us for Saturday; the option for a daytrip was added at the last minute and may prove a popular option for next year for those people who would love to visit camp but sleep in their own bed at night!
Camp Artaban is celebrating 100 years of Christian camping this year, and a Gala Dinner is planned for Saturday, October 28 at the Inn at the Quay in New Westminster. If you are someone who likes an evening out with friends, please consider joining in with this festive fundraiser (did you know our very own Ian Thomas is on the Board of Directors?)
Details and ticket sales can be found on the Camp Artaban website's eCanteen page.
