All ages are very welcome at this supper service when we recall the final meal Jesus had with his disciples where he washed their feet and instituted the sacrament of the eucharist. A potluck soup and bun supper will be served in the lower hall. We'll share communion together around the table during our meal. Then, we'll pause and all who wish to have their feet washed and to wash another's feet will be invited to do so.
Finally, we'll make our way upstairs in silence to the church. The reserve (leftover) sacrament from communion will be set on the altar in our chapel and any who wish to sit and pray throughout the day on Good Friday are welcome to do so. Once upstairs, we'll remove (strip) all of the furnishings and hangings from the church, put them away, and depart from the church in silence. This symbolizes the stripping of everything from Jesus (his dignity, friendships, and physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing) as he made his way to the cross.
Parking is available in the lot next to the church. This service is not live streamed.
