Summer Day Camp Support Worker

Position Description:
Aspire Bible Camp is seeking a contract Summer Day Camp Support Worker to help with the
successful delivery of Aspire Bible Camp programming and child care. You will work closely
with and report to the Children's Ministry Worker from St Clement's Anglican Church and the Youth Missioner from the Diocese of New Westminster and assist them in the planning and delivery of the Aspire Bible Camp program.
You are:
A skilled relationship builder who has some experience working with children in and across a
variety of fields, including faith-based organizations. You are a team player, who understands
the needs of children and youth and is comfortable leading some elements of curriculum
and organizing events. A self-motivated person who is organized, values boundaries and
understands the core values of Aspire Bible Camp, which are to learn, play and grow
together.
Summer Day Camp Support Worker:
There are up to 4 senior leader (16+) positions available and up to 3 junior leader (13+) positions. Positions will be filled based on registration numbers. Ahead of Aspire Bible Camp, you will need to be available for 2 training sessions, 1 in person (8 hours) scheduled depending on the group's availability. The other day will include safeguarding training and can be done remotely at any time from the date of being hired (this will also be a total of 8 hours). The camp will be 5 days, July 22-26, and is a requirement that you be there for each day. The hours will be 8:30am-4:30pm.
The Pay Rate will be $18-$25 based on experience. The camp days will be long at 9 hours, but you will have a scheduled paid break each day. There will also be 4 hours of set up and tear down before and after the camp.
This contract is for a total of 57 hrs.

Requirements
The successful applicant must be 16+ for the senior leader role and 13+ for the junior leader role (both are paid)
Ability to work with flexibility from July 22-26, 8:30am-4:30pm
Complete a successful Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search
Diocese of New Westminster’s Screening in Faith policy and training.
Basic First Aid/CPR (Child) or equivalent (Required for 2 out of 7 positions)
