On Sunday morning, our warden Philip took to the pulpit to made a special announcement on behalf of the Search Committee. We were delighted to learn that the Rev. Helen Dunn, currently vicar of Christ Church Cathedral, will become the next rector of St. Clement's, effective in mid-August.

Helen has been at the Cathedral for four years and in that time has distinguished herself for her many fine pastoral and personal qualities. Helen is known as an excellent preacher and a compassionate presence, and for offering a steady hand at the wheel during the Cathedral's transition due to Dean Peter's retirement. Helen lives in North Vancouver and is reported to be very excited to join us as our new priest.

We are grateful for the willingness of all candidates who put their name forward, and ask a blessing on the vocation of all. We are grateful, too, for the work of our Search Committee and assistance provided by the Bishop's Advisory Committee on Appointments.

On May 23 and 30, the Rev. Paula Porter-Leggett will provide Sunday supply. Paula will become our interim priest beginning June 1, and spend the summer with us prior to Helen's arrival.
