Linda Faivre-Duboz is happy to report that the joint Girl Guide-St. Clement's yarn bombing project is coming along nicely. The goal is to cover our front-yard anchor in a knitted “sweater” to raise awareness for the food bank. Together the girl guides and the parishioners of St. Clement's have been busy knitting scraps of yarn into knitted pieces that will be sewn together to cover the anchor.
The 4th Crown Pathfinders and member of St. Clement's will meet on Sunday, March 8 after church to ‘bomb’ the anchor with an amazing multicolored outfit (you can see a preliminary "fitting" in the photo shown!) Please hand in all completed yarn pieces at the back of the church by Sunday, March 1.
The Lynn Valley District is holding their annual hike for hunger on Tuesday, April 7. The Girl Guides will hike around Lynn Valley, collecting food donations for the Harvest Project, then gather in the parking lot of St Clement's, where a large truck from the Harvest Project will be on hand to take all of the non-perishable food donations to the food bank.
Lynn Valley residents will be encouraged to drop food donations off at the church all month starting from when the anchor is unveiled on March 8 until the final Hike for Hunger on April 7.
