On Saturday, Ian Thomas and 47 others in the diocese will join the distinguished ranks of the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster, an honour bestowed on those who have served the church with long-standing dedication. The service of investiture will be held at the Massey Theatre at 10:30am this Saturday, and everyone is invited to this always-inspiring event!

Along with his late wife, Guusje, Ian was active in the Anglican church in Alberta, Victoria, and Ontario before they arrived at St. Clement's in 2009. Guusje passed away in 2015 after 47 years of marriage and Ian has since been both Rector’s and People’s Warden, Parish Council member, Coordinator of Readers, Counter, Eucharistic
Administrator, Intercessory Prayer leader, Diocesan Council representative for the Capilano Archdeaconry and Vice-President on the Camp Artaban Board.

Ian is an ardent family man, thankful for his two daughters, four grandchildren, and eight brothers and sisters-in-law. He continues to be challenged, daily, by English Cryptic Crosswords and loves to follow soccer, cricket and rugby on TV. Ian states that he is honoured and deeply humbled by this nomination.

We look forward to celebrating Ian this weekend!
