What is Ash Wednesday?
In the Christian faith, we begin our journey to Easter Day on Ash Wednesday with the sign of ashes (prepared by burning the palm crosses from the previous year). These ashes are marked on our foreheads in the shape of a cross. We call this act "the imposition of ashes", an ancient sign, speaking of the frailty and uncertainty of human life. This act also marks the desire of the community as a whole to commit oureslves to confession, forgiveness, and reconciliation in our lives and in the world.
Parking is available in the lot next to the church.
